Excellent way to get a 37 scale bass on a budget

This kits really nice. It was my 4th kit I've made. The quality and finish of the body and neck were fantastic and better than the other kits I've made. Tight neck fit. The body needed no extra sanding before I got to dyeing it. No sharp fret ends. The fret leveling is acceptable, probobly not perfect, but I dont have a notched straight edge for this scale so I didnt do any leveling. You should expect to do fret leveling to get it perfect so this isnt an issue to me. The only holes that you have to drill yourself are for the pickups, which is great. It was awesome to be able to just jump right into finishing and to not have to drill all sorts of bridge and neck holes, that are hopefully perfectly placed.

The hardware seems pretty good too. My only issue I had was the 'locking nut' part I had to drill out the holes more on the two largest strings for them to fit. Part of the issue is the screws inside sit too high so they take up some of the hole. Maybe this isnt an issue on all of them, but it was an easy fix. I swapped the nut for a graphtech dingwall multiscale nut, was an easy replacement. The string spacing is a hair different on it but not enough to worry about. The tuners feel good and stay in tune well. You want to pull the strings tight with a pair of pliers before locking them in at the head, otherwise you may run out of room trying to tune up. This isnt an issue with the tuners, just the design of headless tuners. It can be pretty hard to turn the tuners as bass…
