This was a super fun project over around 2 months at most. I originally wanted a $1,600+ bass, but tried my hand at a DIY which I never attempted. I instead bought a Combine 8 guitar and 5 string multiscale bass at a fraction of the price. I learned from some faults of my own on the guitar which still turned out great, but I’m super proud of this bass I defretted, added a burl maple top to body and head, and wood dyed to my desire. Instead of a $1,600 bass, I no have a profound knowledge of a specific instrument I can modify, adjust, and rework with greater confidence than I ever had before.

Heute, 3 Wochen später wurde der Bass zugestellt in einem völlig demolierten Paket mit 98 Euro Versandzuschlag !!!
Das nenne ich organisierte Kriminalität. Billigstes Material, ohne Beschreibung, ohne Anleitung. Ich werde mein Geld zurückfordern. Wenn nötig auch juristisch

As we explained during our private correspondence, the additional €98 charge you mentioned was not a shipping surcharge charged by Combine Guitars. It was an import duty/customs fee collected by Austrian customs authorities when the package entered Austria. These government fees are outside of our control and are separate from the shipping charges paid during checkout.
When you contacted us privately, your concern was the customs/import fees. During our correspondence, you did not mention that the package had arrived damaged or that you were dissatisfied with the quality of the kit. Based on the information you provided, we offered to accept the return of the kit for a refund of the product price once it was returned to us. Based on the circumstances of your return request, we were unable to offer a refund of the original shipping charges or of the customs/import fees collected by your government.
If the damaged packaging resulted in damaged or defective parts, or if you had raised concerns about the quality of the kit, we would have gladly worked with you to replace any affected components as part of our normal customer support process.
We always strive to resolve customer concerns fairly and professionally, and we're disappointed that we couldn't reach a resolution that worked for both parties.

I have deducted a star for the wiring diagram being a bit sub par. I was able to find the information I needed in the end on another website. I do recommend the kit. I expect it will be a great playing guitar once I get everything dialed in.
