January's Guitar of the Month Winner!

Guitar of the Month Winner January 2024

We’re pleased to announce that Alex P. is the latest winner of our Guitar of the Month contest! This beautiful multiscale bass is built using Combine's 5-String Multiscale Bass Guitar Kit. Here is a snippet of his story:

"I wanted to build my dream bass based on the Multiscale 5-String Bass Kit CG-BAM5A. Aesthetically I managed to implement my ideas. I rounded off the basswood body according to my ideas and covered it with 3 pieces of veneers. In the middle I glued a strip of black poplar veneer as wide as the fingerboard. On both sides I glued a piece of veneer of Trembling Polar. The veneer is only 0.6mm. So I had to be careful when sanding that I didn't sand away too much veneer.

I stained the entire body and the front of the head with blue Keda Wood Dye. To increase the pressure on the saddle, I installed a string Downholder of Göldo. I also drilled Luminlay position markers as side fret markings.

It took me about one week to roughly assemble it including paint. I had a lot of fun. I will definitely build another bass again.

I hope you like the bass as much as I do.
" - Alex P.

Alex's win has earned him up to 50% off the base price of his next DIY Guitar Kit, and his build has been shared on our website and social media!
